Mark Hamm

Mark Hamm is the Executive Chairman of Centerline Healthcare Partners, a Petra Portfolio company, and an owner and board member of The Vein Company, a specialty vascular practice for the treatment of venous reflux disorder and other vascular diseases. Previously, he served as the Envision Healthcare Inpatient Physician Services Chief Executive Officer and as its Chief Development Officer. Mr. Hamm’s ability to develop and foster relationships with hospitals and health systems was a key part of Envision’s extraordinary growth from 2010 to 2016. During his tenure Envision grew revenue from $1.2 Billion in 2010 to $3.6 Billion in 2016 and opened 760 new physician practices. He was the architect, operator and lead executive for the HCA/Envision Joint Venture physician practice management model. This partnership directly contributed over $1.8 Billion in new revenue to Envision.

Mr. Hamm has extensive expertise in operating emergency medicine practices, hospitalist programs, trauma surgery practices and anesthesia and intensivist programs along with mergers and acquisitions. He has expertise in developing and executing strategic plans, day-to-day operations and practice growth. He is the creator of the pioneering Door-To-Discharge model which reinvented the way emergency medicine and hospital medicine is delivered in hospitals by improving hospital patient flow and decreasing E.D. boarding times. Mr. Hamm has contributed to a number of articles on the subjects of decreasing boarding times and improving the patient care path.

Prior to joining Envision, Mr. Hamm served as Chief Operating Officer at HCA Physician Services and managed over 150 employed physician practices at HCA hospitals throughout the country. Mr. Hamm was involved in all the HCA hospitals ER RFP’s and was responsible for evaluating, awarding and negotiating vendor contracts. He also developed the Joint Venture model while at HCA. He has also served as the COO over TeamHealth’s Emergency Medicine and Hospital Medicine Divisions. Mr. Hamm earned his MBA in Healthcare Management and Strategic Marketing from the University of Tennessee and a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Memphis.
